BANK CARD ART DESIGNS VISIBILITY | ADDED VALUE

If you always take the same paths and you know every tree, every shadow of the sun depending on the time of day, the flowers, stones by the wayside that you have removed, and the familiar silence during success, then it is difficult to change direction and venture the path over the bramble hedge. Yet today, more than ever, art is synonymous with content. The content is both provocation and question mark, and the art takes new and unique paths that are difficult to understand.

Pipilotti Rist once said: "Art is whatever sells." But the chasm between these concepts has grown vast.

For years I have been searching for a strategic idea to combine business with art, just as a wedding ring is a craft whose vow is a universally recognized statement. If a goldsmith's wedding ring is a work of art, it is internationally integrated and accepted. This transformation from the art context into the daily visibility of commerce is a safeguard for artists and their artworks. I spent a long time searching for the connecting piece and the mutual added value. The answer lies in gaining attention through credit card designs. Everyone owns one; everyone wants one and so, the circle is complete.

MY JOURNEY

Over the last thirty years, my work developed first through painting. At the same time, I continuously observed the dynamics of the international art market. From this combination of artistic practice and observation, I have now begun to reflect on these experiences in writing.

After my art studies in Dresden and my degree in marketing research, I refined my artistic practice. Starting from the haptic discipline of studying nature, I developed my own technique, which I call KATHAs Cutting Art, forming the foundation of my personal visual language.

For almost twenty years I have lived in Dubai, where I witnessed the coordinated transformation of a country from a developing environment into a high-tech metropolis. This transformation also reshaped the international art market, which expanded structurally and repositioned itself globally during this period. For my artistic work, I was granted a Golden Visa for Artists in the United Arab Emirates.

My work therefore moves between artistic practice, market observation and analytical reflection. Painting and writing function as two connected forms through which I examine perception, structure and transformation within the context of art.

Artists provide essentional services within the field of art, extended to include consulting, commissioned works, exhibitions, as well as market participation and representation by galleries, museums, and institutions. This activity constitutes an independent professional sector whose market value is increasingly shaped by investors and economic exploitation.

I already knew at the age of two that I possessed an artistic talent. When I later tried to distance myself from art, my mother gave me a defining piece of advice: “Katharina, if you do not want art, then your life itself must be art.”

Through my independent career and the worldwide sale of my works, I have developed a solid understanding of art collectors in the luxury segment and strategically align the direction of ART INDUSTRY ALLIANCE specifically toward this target group.
